The somewhat fuzzy photo on the left
was taken in about 1938 on the Joseph Gerwing farm
near Lake Lenore Saskatchewan. I am depicted as the
"groom". The "bride" outfitted in my
mother's wedding dress, is my
sister Theresia Carson (nee Gerwing)
The reason for the photo was that my
mother Anna Gerwing (nee Gessner) often remarked
that she & Pa ( Joseph Gerwing Sr.) never
had "proper" wedding photos taken
when they married in 1916. The photo
provides proof that even
in the difficult times of the 1930's, kids liked to
have fun! |
