Tuesday April 27, 1909 the
marriage of
Christ Gerwing and Julia Leidolt took place in the St. Joseph's
Church in Pierz. Both are well known in church and vicinity. The
groom is the son of the late Henry Gerwing who formerly lived in
the tow of But but went to Canada about six years ago, where he
died. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Leidolt who
live in Agram, about one and a half miles west of the village.
At 9 o'clock the ceremonies took place, Father Stiegler read the
Mass. A large crowd gathered at the home of the bride, mostly
all relatives and intimate friends. And music and dancing where
the amusement during the afternoon and evening. All enjoyed
themselves immensely.
